Jayne Perry, Co-Treasurer

Co-Owner of Akron Market on Main this amazing Lady gives more of her herself to the Community than just the Chamber of Commerce.

We at the Chamber are honored to have her as part of our organization and blessed to have her as part of out tiny town!

I have always called Akron my hometown. I am an alumnus – born and raised here, along with my husband Brian and our daughter Jenna. I am so very proud of the community of Akron!

As a young girl growing up near the dead end of Main Street in Akron, I have fond memories of the Village – especially the many shops in town! I remember walking to the Park Super grocery store to get a few groceries - a list in hand from my mother! Years later, my mother managed a 5&10 store in town, the D & K, kind of like the Dollar Tree of the 1980’s. After school, I would help her while she was working.

I love the many varied stores we have and have had over the years. It’s been a wonder to watch the Village grow – especially in recent years. My vision is to see Akron continue to blossom into that destination which offers the experience of a variety of shops and restaurants to its citizens and visitors. Small businesses are the backbone of our nation!

This is why I decided to become a part of what is happening with the Chamber of Commerce in Akron, and why I continue to serve on many committees and am active in local organizations within Akron. Giving back to the community is important to both Brian and I, it is also why we have such a PASSION for our destination store – Market on Main! What is extra special about this store is that it is an outreach to students in our high school – giving them an opportunity to learn business skills.

We are also excited to host guests in our soon-to-be-open short-term rental above the Market. It will be named in memory of my Mom and Dad.
